Hey, I’m Nishant
What I’m Drawn To
I’ve always been most interested in the overlap between what’s technically possible and what’s actually useful.
Essentially, how do you build something genuinely interesting, then figure out who cares, why they care, and whether there’s a real market for it.
How I Got Here
Studied computer science and economics and experimented with everything from software engineering to economics research to building a startup
That took me to Bain & Company, where I thought we’d work on fixing large enterprise “painpoints.” In practice, a lot of the work was validating that the pain was, in fact, pain.
Got recruited to Playground VC where I was a somewhat non-traditional VC.
Part of my time looked like classic venture work. The other part was spent building relationships with enterprise leaders to act as the bridge between their biggest problems and the startup / innovation ecosystem.
Through that work, I got to work with and learn from leaders at companies like Bank of America, JPMorgan, NVIDIA, UPS, LG, Mercedes, Amazon, and more.
What I’m Doing Now
Now I’m building a startup and trying to apply those lessons directly: start with a real problem, stay close to the customer, and build something that can actually earn its place in the market.
We’re fortunate enough to be backed by investors like 8VC, Garage Capital, and Northside.
Elsewhere
I’m also a big golfer and Blue Jays, Raptors, and Seahawks fan, which has been a strong exercise in loyalty, patience, and benign masochism.
